Supposedly in production, with Charlize Theron, not sure on the male lead, no Mel. Not much news on this except is allegedly gonna get made.

Two days ago, I saw a script that would haul that bomb. You want to milk people out of their money? You talk to me.

If Mel Gibson was in it then I'd see it opening day, love the mad max trilogy. However no mel gibson and I'm not interested.

I think the Max character has run his arc. The only story he has left is as a peripheral character.

They have cast Kevin Costner as the lead. And reportedly it's not in a desert this time around. It's going to be in the ocean, instead. Oh wait, they already made that movie.

I say they make a movie focusing on just Lord Humongous and his gang before the road warrior. That might be pretty interesting.

I'm pretty fanatical about the trilogy so even if its a piece of shit, I'll see it.

It's about Max after Thunderdome and yet for some reason Mel is too old to play a late 40's Max and yet Tom Hardy is too young. MEH. we're seeing another V 8 Intercepter. Yes Max had one of the last but apparently people on line took the movies too literal.

I ill be looking forward to the videogame tie in. I hope that its a compilation of the movies and has toe cutter, the night rider, lord humongous, master blaster, etc.

We dumb americans suck. This isn't the first time where we took a franchise from another country and made a crappy sequel and made a drastic change in the main character. See godzilla (1998).

I will see it thought, we are seeing another v8 intercepter which is nice and I've yet to see a mad max movie I don't like.

It's actually being made by Max Creator George Miller hence i have no clue what your talking about. As its probably known Mel Gibson was signed on to this project the cars were made they were ready to shoot,........ 8 years ago. But they thought it wasnt safe to film in a mostly Christian African Country cause of Terrorists.

Principal photography began 9 July on the dystopian action adventure “Mad Max: Fury Road”, a Kennedy Miller Mitchell production written and directed by “Mad Max” creator and Academy Award® winner George Miller (“Happy Feet”). The film will be presented by Warner Bros. Pictures in association with Village Roadshow Pictures. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

“Mad Max: Fury Road”—the fourth in the franchise’s history—stars Tom Hardy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) in the title role of Max Rockatansky, alongside Oscar® winner Charlize Theron (“Monster”, “Prometheus”) as Imperator Furiosa.

According to Miller;

“Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.”

“Mad Max: Fury Road” also stars Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: First Class”) as Nux; Hugh Keays-Byrne (“Mad Max”, “Sleeping Beauty”) as Immortan Joe; and Nathan Jones (“Conan the Barbarian”) as Rictus Erectus. Collectively known as The Wives, Zoë Kravitz (“X-Men: First Class”) plays Toast, Riley Keough (“Magic Mike”) is Capable, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (“Transformers: Dark of the Moon”) is Splendid. They are joined by supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw as The Dag and Courtney Eaton as Fragile, both of whom are making their big screen debuts. Also featured in the movie are Josh Helman as Slit, Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy, and singer/songwriter/performer iOTA as Coma-Doof Warrior.

The cast is rounded out by well-known Australian actors John Howard, Richard Carter, supermodel Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.

Miller is directing the film from a screenplay he wrote with Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris. Miller also produces the film, along with longtime producing partner, Oscar® nominee Doug Mitchell (“Babe”, “Happy Feet”), and P.J. Voeten. Iain Smith, Graham Burke and Bruce Berman serve as executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes Academy Award®-winning director of photography John Seale (“The English Patient”); action unit director and stunt coordinator Guy Norris (“Australia”); editor Margaret Sixel (“Happy Feet”); production designer Colin Gibson (“Babe”); Oscar®-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan (“A Room with a View”); and makeup designer Lesley Vanderwalt (“Knowing”).

Shooting on “Mad Max: Fury Road” is taking place in Africa with the support of the Australian government. Originally slated to be shot in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia, the production was forced to relocate due to severe flooding, rendering the Australian landscape unsuitable for the film. The rain turned the area into an oasis instead of the post-apocalyptic terrain that is the setting for Max’s world.

It's kind of amusing to see what Tom Hardy was known for 3 years ago and what he's known for now.
You know, he's been in small movies, Bronson, Rock N Rolla, Star Trek Nemesis and a few smaller ones like Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the forth coming Lawless.

Fucking nobody they've got starring in this. :icon_mrgr

I heard somewhere it was going to be a remake rather than a direct sequel. I don't know if its true or not. I'm hoping this isn't the case.

The Production Art shows a Max with the Leathers like he had in the two Sequels plus the grey temples like 3. It'll more then likely be a reboot.
