My sister in law/brother in law just got a fancy house in Alpharetta, GA. Its an hour north of Atlanta. My family and I are going to be there for 5 days and we want to do some cool shit while we are there. Can anyone who knows the area recommend some stuff to see. Good places to eat.. Ect...

Specifically, Shane's Rib Shack. The original is in McDonough, where you can say hello to my normal Mother in Law. (Yes, I have two. My wife is adopted.)

It's hacky and touristy, but you should go to the Varsity.

That's all I've got. Despite my many trips down there I've never actually done anything fun.

Nothing in Alpharetta, but that's not too far from Atlanta proper. For food, I suggest going to the Little 5 Points neighborhood and eating at the Vortex Bar & Grill.

My cousin lives there. I really haven't seen much
to do in the town itself. I'd agree with AHC, check out
some places to see in Atlanta.
She works for CNN and we took the tour there.
Pretty cool. There's plenty to see in the city.
Just watch the traffic, it sucks.

There's really not much to do in the actual proper downtown area because it's primarily a business district. If you want shit to do, go to the east side of the city (that's where Little 5 Points is). There's plenty there. That's where most of the music venues are.

You could see if there's any O&A fans living here
between Atlanta and the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

If you want some male companionship, for some reason I think that can be easily had in Atlanta. :D

Stone Mountain. Visit one of the many craft beer breweries in the area - Red Hare, SweetWater, Red Brick. Little 5 points is cool. Georgia Aquarium. World of Coke.

Fuck yes to both.
Georgia Aquarium. World of Coke.
I liked the Georgia Aquarium, but it's kind of overrated. I was underwhelmed by the World of Coca-Cola, although I was impressed by how sticky the floor was. I imagine that's what the floor of a porn theater feels like.

So when do you leave? How long are you going to be here and how much of that is free time?

Checked out the Coca-Cola experience. Good time all around for the kids and the adults. Went to the Varsity for lunch. Walked through Centenial Park. Went to the Aquarium.

The highlight of the trip was eating at Fox brothers bbq.. holy shit that was good. total food porn

I'm in Atlanta now myself. How bad it traffic to through downtown on the weekend? I'm in the Sandy Springs area where apparently everything is called Perimeter __________.

I went past Atlanta on 285 last night and this afternoon and traffic wasn't bad at all. That's not normal.
