The last Flight - the one about the wwI pilot who gets thrown into the future and has to go back and save his commander because he chickened out , one of the best.

You're all wrong. The Obsolete Man is by far the absolute best Twilight Zone episode ever.

check it out fuckers:

Watched that one yesterday. Great episode, but still....not the best.

To Serve Man is the greatest. It just ended.

That, or Nightmare at 20,000 feet....I mean, you got William Shatner overacting, and the worst/most hilarious looking 'gremlin' getting pulled in and out of view by visible wires. AWESOME.

Love the show, I watch as much of the marathon as possible every year. Last year I caught around 40 hours of it, this year...haven't changed the channel since yesterday morning.

To Serve Man is great. But to me, knowing the turn, it loses a little on repeat viewing. Surely though some of the finest fantasy scripts ever made it to the show. I can watch Burgess Meredith's fine acting in that title all day. Plus it has Rod smoking in the intro. Not to mention the episode is just so hauntingly true to form with the way things turn.

I was just going to start a thread about the Twilight Zone.
I coincidentally "acquired" all 156 episodes this week.

I've got a few of the box-sets they put out as well.

I love "The Masks"
The other week I saw one I hadn't seen where this old man keeps fixing this really old beat up clock. Where he thinks that if he lets the clock stop working he'll die.

I also like "Night of the Meek" about Santa and Xmas eve.

Always loved the show, probably seen all of the episodes, like Anthony said when Jimmy Fallon was on and they were discussing it, Rod Serling was way ahead of his time, as was the show, my favorite episodes were of course the bookworm episode, "Time Again at Last" or something to that effect. Then, I loved "Eye of the Beholder", where the woman, who doctors told was severely disfigured from an accident removes her head bandages only to realize she looks like a normal human being and the doctors and people all have shrunken faces, and that is the "norm". Also, "Nick of Time" with a young William Shatner is great too. It involves himself and his wife entering a town, (to get they're car fixed), while traveling, and eating at a diner waiting for the car to be repaired, only to start using a fortune telling machine, that predicts all the bad things that happen to them, and won't let them leave the town.

Once again, awesome show, :clap::clap::clap:

I bought 3 out of the 5 volumes they were selling a few years back. I was poorer back then so 75$ a pop was a luxury.

One that that did bother me though was I found out they were made from a second hand source. I noticed that they edited out a few minor things such as cigarette ads at the end since cigarette ads were banned from TV. I was hoping they'd be taken from the original stock for the DVDs and not the TV rerun stock. A minor thing but still, I hate watching something I know to be edited.

WhiteHonkyDevil, thanks for the heads up! In my most humblest of opinions, TZ was one of the best written series ever.

Good call on the bump. I think Sci Fi does this every year on the 4th and TZ is timeless. The shit they were pulling off back then was crazy.

I seriously want to get the DVD collection! Something always comes up that I'm not home to watch the marathons. They still show them after the news on the San antonio abc station.

"Execution"
"The Obsolete Man"
"I Shot an Arrow into the Air"
"A Nice Place to Live"

You need to have the collection to see some of these because they're not that popular. Amazon had a great deal on it around Christmas, so I picked it up. The hour-longs tend to suck. Serling was the greatest.

It never fails that I get sucked into the TZ marathon at some point over the
4th of July weekend....usually while nursing a hangover.

Shit, how long did THAT take?

And where? PM me.

Unfortunately, it seems this year the marathon ends at 6am Saturday.

Less than an hour before the Rod Serlingygoodness starts.

One thing I'm wondering...why aren't they starting with "Where is Everybody?" Not only is it great, but it was the first one....

That, and I'm just waiting for the one marathon where Sci-Fi runs the whole series in order. I'm still not sure how they came up with this lineup.

Oh well...at least "The Bard" is airing at an hour where nobody will have to watch it.
