Bader is on the way up (tito fight was an anomaly), Rampage is stagnant. Whoever wins will be looking for a title shot vs the winner of Hendo/Jones (Yeah Jones, he will beat lyoto then fight Hendo.)

Wasn't Rampage huge in Japan? Probably on the card for name value.

This is a preet damn good card.

Rampage asked to be on this card, so you know he will put on a show. I would have rather he fought Lawal, but Bader is good test. I think Rampage needs a couple of wins before he gets another shot. If I had a say, I would have the winner of this fight fight the loser of Evans/Davis.

If Rashad Evans loses, Hendo will probably get the winner of Jones/Machida.

Pulling for Henderson in the main event, there's just something about Edgar that rubs me the wrong way.

Hunt/Kongo should be in a ring, it just feels like a Pride match-up. I hope they bust out the Pride theme at some point too. And confetti at the end. I miss Pride more than I thought I would.

MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view)

Champ Frankie Edgar vs. Ben Henderson (for lightweight title)
Ryan Bader vs. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
Cheick Kongo vs. Mark Hunt
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Jake Shields
Tim Boetsch vs. Yushin Okami
Hatsu Hioki and Bart Palaszewski
Joe Lauzon vs. Anthony Pettis

PRELIMINARY CARD (FX)

Takanori Gomi vs. Eiji Mitsuoka
Vaughan Lee vs. Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto
Steve Cantwell vs. Riki Fukuda
Chris Cariaso vs. Takeya Mizugaki

PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook)

Issei Tamura vs. Tiequan Zhang

I hate to go against Lauzon, in fact I don't even know why I'm doing it, but I think Pettis gets the decision in a close fight.

Bader is a tough fight for Rampage, he has good wrestling and has KO power, but he also has questionable cardio. Interesting fight, but I see Rampage winning.

Edgar seems to get the least respect out of all the UFC champs, but I stopped doubting him after his 2nd fight vs Maynard. Edgar wins in an exciting back and forth and don't be surprised if he wins by TKO, Bendo gets rocked in almost all his fights and Edgar has showed he has KO power.

because Edgar is a stiff. unless he is on a card, nobody talks about him, if someone does mention everyone's reaction is "oh yeah, frankie...."

I don't get how people can hate Edgar.

Edgar Maynard II was FOTY last year in my opinion.

The kid has fucking heart.

Also, he made BJ look like an amateur TWICE (don't even try to say BJ was robbed the first fight, he wasn't)

I've trained with frankie, he couldn't be a nicer guy. I don't see where all the hate comes from. He was a huge underdog against bj and beat him twice. survived twice against maynard to come back and get a win and a draw. the guy just won't go away

It's from 2 places..

1 - He beat BJ Penn. Beat him so bad that as long as Frankie is champ BJ has no place in the lightweight division, and BJ can't hold his own at WW (I'd personally like to see BJ cut to 145)

2 - He is a stick and move fighter... for some reason people think that if you have good footwork you are boring... I don't get it... I think it is a million times better than LnP.

I've read a couple articles over the past week about Rampage not really being interested in fighting anymore. I guess him missing weight is a good indicator of that. Maybe he'll get TKO'd by Bader and retire in front of his adoring Japanese fans.

He has looked like shit in his last few fights.

He has been phoning it in since AT LEAST the Evans fight.

He talks before EVERY fight about how he is gonna come out and bring the fight to the other guy, then he struggles to even stay awake during the fights.

I think at this point he is only fighting because the UFC keeps paying him. I don't think he has any real desire to be great anymore.

Will the Japanese contingent bring it tonight? They've been pretty lackluster recently. Japan could use a good night of fights.
