USB 2.0 port reverting to 1.0/1?

I have a few external HDDs and hook 'em up every other day or so to move data, they are hooked up to a 2.0 and have always been fine. Didn't change anything that I can think would cause this but somehow they have reverted their windows status to an older usb version or something (icon pops up now that gives the message about this device could perform faster...)

Anyone know what could have caused this or just how to fix?

I've had a few HD and USB flash devices say the same thing but the data transfer rate has suggested that they have all been working at the 2.0 spec. The only really pissy devices have been the SD/CF/M-stick adapters, you know, the 7 in 1 camera card gadgets... some of those do not get recognized at all, and when they do they seem really slow.

Something might have happened to the USB drivers, perhaps they were overwritten by older versions. Download and reinstall the correct ones for your chipset/motherboard.
