Yeah, I need to buy one of those padded things you can put over the foam.

I'll probably also remove the Oculus headphones and just use my Sennheiser ear buds.

Budget Cuts is fun but needs more depth. Too many bland and redundant objects scattered about, but I can see how that fits the atmosphere and tone. It’s also easy to go around in circles as most environments look very similar. Adding achievements to how you complete levels would help as well (pure stealth or killing all sentries).

GORN is great, but I use the thumb sticks for movement so I wouldn’t shatter the ceiling fan or bust my knuckles on the walls while flailing around with various weapons.

I bought an Oculus Go. It’s not a gaming machine, more like a Gear setup without a phone. It’s more for viewing content. I did play some live poker in a virtual poker room. The NextVR app is impressive, but needs the NFL or some college football to watch on it. I really like the Netflix VR app. If I plug in my Bose noise canceling headphones, I can almost completely shut out the real world.

When they release the necessary wireless attachments that respond to what’s on the screen, VR porn will change the industry as much as VCRs did.

There’s room for improvement in resolution and more useful content, but overall I’m pretty happy with it, except that the battery life is shit. About 2 hours on a full charge.

No way to use it plugged in?

Done with Budget Cuts... for now. The credit sequence is great and the song sounds like something from a Bond film.

Adam is legitimately terrifying.

Also exhausted content with GORN. Devs will probably keep updating it.

If you’re trying to knock opponents out of the arena, try dragging the boulder or greathammer along the ground in front of you then release it upwards to vault the goons out.

Arizona Sunshine was a lot better than I expected. Haven’t played the DLC.

There are also some brilliant VR experiences that anyone can pickup and enjoy, like the virtual ISS Space Walk or Google Earth VR.

Waltz of the Wizard is a fun little free game, but the best free title I’ve seen so far is Rec Room.

GORN was updated and the whole pre-arena dungeon area was restyled completely with a new arena added. Each boss now has their own arena gauntlet of enemy waves culminating in a free-for-all prior to the boss appearing. It’s a better way to try out all of the weapons. You can also turn on ‘low violence’ mode to make it kid-friendly where the enemies look like piñatas- blood and gore are replaced by candy and confetti.

Waiting for the cooler weather to really dig into this shit, since this headset makes me sweat like a muh-fucker in this record summer heat wave we've been having here.

The Battlefront battle is fucking amazing. You're going to jizz all up into your nerd helmet.
I went to play this and realized I only have the game for Xbox, so it's DLing while I'm at work.

The VR is the Rogue Squadron thing, right?

Yeah it is, and it fucking rules. You've never felt so IN a Star Wars thing.
I need to pull my own nerd helmet out. I was really sick last year and had to quit VR because I was getting Vertigo too quickly, but now that I'm back on my feet, I need to get my tolerance back up for VR and start playing some shit.

I almost feel guilty about how little I've used it.

I brought it out because I'm visiting my parents for vacation next week and my dad is a tech nerd, so I want to show him.

As PSVR gets a little long in the tooth the limitations are starting to show.

I really hope the rumored wireless next-gen PSVR in late 2020 is true and that it will come with a two camera set up. VR but not being able to turn 360 kinda stinks.

They've already said that this version of PSVR will be compatible with PS5. They may still release another nerd helmet, but it won't be a necessary step up, even into the next generation of console.

I don't disagree.

What the rumors stem from is an old reddit post. One of those that went by with little comment.

Dude "leaked" all kinds of shit about next gen PS and PSVR and the games that were coming out next year.

At the time no one cared because it's just some anon dude on the internet. But every single detail Sony released about the next-gen console he predicted exactly. Including exactly who was making the chips and what the specs will be.

So now everyone is combing that post for details. He talked about new controllers along with the new wireless VR unit. That the PS5 will be out in spring 2020 and the new VR is coming the following fall.

I was able to snag an in-store set today at a different store instead of waiting until Thursday for my pre order. I hope this thing is worth me holding off upgrading my Xbox for. I remember a lot of “cool innovative gaming systems” in the 90’s that were clearance rack and garage sale fodder one year after release.
