What is your Favorite John Lennon song?
Thats tough. I have to go with Hide your love away, Girl or Norwegian Wood.
ya should have gone with a condom...sorry had to be said
anyhoo just to keep this post on topic i was always a big fan of Working Class Hero...which is odd b/c i'm usually not into political songs
It is weird because I love his political songs, but my favorite song by him is Jealous Guy.
Free as a Bird right now. Imagine and Starting over usually though.
Instant Karma or Imagine or Strawberry Fields Forever
damn I thinks its too hard, but those would be 3 of my top ones.
I almost couldn't pick a fav.
Strawberry Fields Forever.
not just favorite of his, but prob fav of all time.
well i'd have to say Across the Universe.
Don't have a fave, but thought Instant Karma was a great pick to end the show with.
In My Life is a great song
I have so many as I'm a huge fan but one of them that always stood out to me because it was the first solo song I ever heard was Nobody Told Me. In fact that whole Milk and Honey album is one of my favorite albums period.
My favorite post Beatles Lennon song is God. It a great song that spells out what reality is all about.
Imagine is one of the greatest songs of all time. Something as simple and basic as this song should not be this moving. It's absolutely incredible.
To be completely hack, I also like "Watching The Wheels".
"Luck of the Irish" and "How do you Sleep?".....[QUOTEIf you have the luck of the Irish,
You'd be sorry and wish you were dead
You shold have the luck of the Irish
And you'd wish you was English instead!
A thousand years of torture and hunger
Drove the people away from their land,
A land full of beauty and wonder
Was ***** by the British brigands!
If you could keep voices like flowers
There'd be shamrocks all over the world.
If you could drink dreams like the Irish streams
Then the world would be high as the mountain of mourn
In the Pool they told us the story
How the english divided the land,
Of the pain, the death and the glory
And the poets of auld Eireland
If we could make chains with the morning dew
The world would be like Galway Bay
Let's walk over rainbows like leprechauns
The world would be one big Blarney stone
Why the hell are the English there anyway?
As they kill with God on their side!
Blame it all on the kids and the IRA!
As the bastards commit genocide][/QUOTE]
the one where he is just sitting there watchin the world go round and round
Watchin' the Wheels.
Also my favorite... of the solo songs. Might be my fave Lennon song period, but the Beatles are my favorite band, so it's a harder pick.
that's the one, thanks, haven't heard it in a while.. just downloaded it
"I married a band-wrecking slope and got shot by an insane fan"
Does this include Beatle's songs he wrote?
If so, I gotta give props to "In My Life"
as a solo act it is hard to argue against Imagine
Although I really like Love also.
If its with the Beatles its "happiness is a warm gun" on his own "starting over" I know that song is a little poppy, but has really good lyrics and I think it really described a different path his life was going to go and not just musically.
I like the one where he gets shot and dies.
working class hero
Got to go with jealous guy
