I usually fast forward through any political segments, but I just listened to the Patton Oswalt interview and when politics was brought up, Patton was making points, but also joking about the Republican field, Donald Trump, etc. When Opie asked Ant whether he agreed that the Republicans had a poor field, instead of keeping the funny going, as we all know he's fully capable of doing, he got totally serious talking about how much he hates that fucking guy.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but even the people who agree with everything Ant says, which has to be a relatively small minority of the audience, don't enjoy nonstop yelling and rage over these issues, especially at 7 in the morning. Even Rush and Hannity will throw in some humor.

And why does he hate Obama so much? I lean Republican, but he hasn't done anything to warrant rage on that scale. He really hasn't done much of anything period. Like I can understand liberals hating Bush in 2004 because he started 2 wars, the Patriot Act, wiretapping, water-boarding, those are all policies I can see people hating. So is it the black thing? Yeah probably.

You don't lean right. Just look at your post. Oh and you don't agree with Anthony so of course those who do HAVE to be in the minority. I forgot how delusionally self absorbed the average board member is.

It's not a black thing. That's something someone who doesn't understand government says.

Obama is trying to vastly expand the federal government, Obamacare being one example. The reason he hasn't gotten a lot done is because he's a shitty leader and the voters took the House from the Democrats in the last election. That doesn't mean he isn't trying. He's also one of the people who would rather get as many people as possible on the tit of the federal government, because it gives politicians power. That's the only reason any government expands... the more money that flows through them, the more power they possess to control people.

Imagine what Obama would try to do regarding issues like firearm control if he won a 2nd term (and didn't have to worry about reelection).

Yeah when people go with the whole "it's because hes black" I just let it go. You have to be a complete idiot with zero knowledge on how the govt or politics works to say that. I figure you let them run around saying it as its a good way for everyone else to identify them as idiots too.

What in my post indicates that? I agree with everything Bush did that I listed.

Obamacare is significant, but I've never heard Ant mention it once in his recent rants. I don't see him wanting to hugely expand the government anymore than other democrats. In any case, Ant rarely talks about specific policies like Obamacare or the stimulus, just that he's a socialist who wants to take more of his money.

And I generally give the benefit of the doubt when I hear someone say that about the Tea Party people. But I've listened to enough of Ant to realize that it's probably the case. If you think that Clinton or Kerry would be getting this type of anger if they were in Obama's place, you haven't listened to the show enough.

Who do you think is going to beat him? I don't think Obama deserves to keep the job, but I don't see anyone in this GOP field taking him out. In 2004 we thought ANYBODY could beat Bush.

I know this conversation is happening in every corner of the internet every day, but I'm curious who Wackbag likes at this point.

Personally I think any GOP nominee will beat him. Not that the front runners are that great (I can't stand Romney), but there are motivated Republicans who will vote "anything but", a lot of independents who will vote in response to the economy (which is against Obama), and a lot of liberals/Democrats who aren't happy with what Obama has done and just wont show up. Out of the major candidates I want Paul exponentially more than Newt/Romney/Perry, but to be honest in this election I am voting against a candidate, not for one.

He continued all of the Bush stuff and then somehow added another 5 trillion dollars of debt. He is also one of "the rich" that Obama and his co-horts want to hijack to get out of the giant debt and deficit crisis. BARACK GON' TAKE THEIR MONEY (ringthebell) AND GIVE IT ALL UP TO ME.

I think Ant finds security in picking a side and sticking to it. It's not just politics. Unless it's something he doesn't really care about like sports, when a discussion comes up for him to be involved in, he likes to find his opinion and then figure out every reason why the opposition is wrong so he can feel confident about it. I don't agree with a lot of the things he says, but I don't mind listening to it because I find it funny how closed minded he is.

He has mentioned places like Chimpout, VNN, Ringthebellmania and Stormfront before, to the point where Jim Norton has referred to Stormfront a couple of times as "Mr Cumia's Homepage."

Maybe he really is just a fuckin' Neo Nazi?

(Look at my sig)

I for one love that Anthony is the only one on the show who takes politics so seriously. He's being dead serious and I'm just laughing. (with him, or at him...? I dont even know anymore.)

On the flip side though, when everyone is being dead serious Anthony has to be the ONE guy who still makes jokes. Figure that one out.

I thought the original question was why does Anthony hate Obama so much, not why do Republicans or Americans hate him so much. With Anthony, and maybe Anthony alone - it is 100 percent a black thing. There is no chance - and I mean no chance - they'd talk about politics as much as they do if Hillary Clinton was the President. No chance. They may joke about her cankles and stuff, but "Rage Anthony"? Yeah, that's a black thing. 100 Percent. I'm not even sure he'd deny that.

Oh, and that obviously leads directly to the answer to the question posed in the Thread Title - "Why can't Ant find any humor when talking politics?" He can - He's just not allowed to say any of it.

Because he would get thrown off the air?

They have seemingly lost a lot of the freedom they had in 2004, 2005ish.

There's this condition a lot of people on both sides seem to have where they get incredibly melodramatic and Chicken Little-ish when thinking/talking about politics. They seem convinced that this is the end times and because they alone have the answers, it's time to put away things like humor and joking and get down to seriousness because the fate of the free world is in their hands. It also plays into the SANE MAN IN A CRAZY UNIVERSE syndrome that has detrimentally affected this show over the past few years. And all of them have those moments.

Oh, and that obviously leads directly to the answer to the question posed in the Thread Title - "Why can't Ant find any humor when talking politics?" He can - He's just not allowed to say any of it.
Yeah. Throwing out Planet of the Apes everytime Obama appears on screen always makes me lol.

I listened to this show for years and I am pretty confident in saying Ant has gotten a bit more blatant in his racism as the years have gone on. If Kerry was doing the same exact things as Obama, Ant would be angry and want to vote him out ...but it would not be forthing rage he has towards Obama. It is not the overriding reason he hates him, but it is a small factor that adds to it.

But as he'll say himself, he wasn't all ra ra Bush when he was in office. Politics was not a daily topic of conversation then, but if anything I only remember them criticizing him.

To be totally honest, I don't hear a single shred of the anti-Jew sentiment you see on those sites in Ant, but his opinion on black people wouldn't be the least bit out of place on those sites. I think he started off going to different extremist sites, because let's be honest, they're fun, but found himself agreeing with a lot of what the white supremacist sites say and becoming more involved. He'll say shit like "TNB" or "Chimpout," which I never heard him say a couple years earlier, and the rage he has against the stupid black people in those videos he brings up is so over the top it's ridiculous. Also, I could be mistaken, but the anger at interracial couples seems new as well.

Then explain why he was praising Cain for his ideas before he imploded? Race baiter's head assplodes?

He may not have ranted as much about Hillary if she had won because she would not be as bad of a President as Obama. She also wouldn't have been as big of a hypocrite as Obama is. Somethings things are as simple as not agreeing with someone.

For the same reason a lot of white people supported Obama. To prove they're not racist. Cain was a fucking joke from the beginning. A black Donald Trump. Any white guy with his credentials wouldn't have been given the time of day.

I came to be stationed at Ft. Gordon GA about 3 years ago. I came here as a naive yet open minded city boy. I didn't realize that there were still parts of this country that are perpetually stuck in 1910, TRUST ME, real racists laugh at people like Anthony.
