I don't play Xbox360, I keep reading changed avatar parameters, changed in game content......is this basically people cheating? I thought you couldn't cheat on Xbox....well other then that autofire button on the controller my nephew has.
I'm assuming getting banned for changing the color of your avatar means you modded your XBox to be able to do so.
so less idiot kids on xbox live? sweet!
Yeah, it's modding the xbox. Which is a tos violation.
if this is the best Id hate to read the worst
I love reading the ones that are obviously 12 year olds pretending to be their own parents. I think those are probably the best.
It does seem that the XBL mod team can be dicks sometimes.
Holy shot that is boring and yeah it sounds like the mods are dicks. "Are you normally in the habit of signing documents without reading them?" Are 12 year olds normally signing and reading legally binding contracts?
This may be my favorite one on there
Nothing there, Slappy
I don't get it,
In about two pages it seems like everyone was banned for altering their avatar.
Why is this a big deal, and how are they doing it anyway?
Yeah, that site didn't really do much for me. I didn't get the entire Avatar thing either- they changed a blue guy to a green guy, who cares? But the commentators are such dicks, like you can sense their superiority leaking out of their keyboards.
I do enjoy some of the ones from actual parents. You can almost feel the panic in their email, because the babysitter they bought to entertain their child is not working. Oh dear, I might have to spend time with my kid because that video game thing won't work and he will have 8 hours each day of nothing to do!!!
My little brother-in-law hooked a laptop into my 360 and fiddled with some source code, and we were instantly invincible and all sorts of other cool stuff on one of the old Halo titles. He was just showing off and we put it back after a couple minutes, but it's not that hard to do with some basic coding knowledge.
I really have a hard time believing that any of them are from actual parents.
Yeah I been reading up on it, all you need is a laptop and a memory stick and you can mod the hell out of an XBox for all kinds of hacks. The funny thing about that is hacking killed PC gaming for most people, now it's rampant with consoles.
Ironically, I never see it on PS3. Not being too cool for the room, I've honestly never seen a person I knew for a fact was hacking. I did see some guys using some sort of lagger in MW2 a couple times, but never out-right hacking.
I used to see it a lot more on regular XBox, but it's far less prevalent on 360. (Though I haven't played a 360 game online in well over a year or two)
this really does further my belief that common sense is a super power. if you can't normally do something through xbox live, odds are microsoft frowns upon it and they reserve the right to deal with your account as they see fit.
I haven't seen any hacking of MW3 on XBL yet, but holy shit....I tried to play some World at War a couple weeks ago, and I couldn't get into a room that wasn't hacked. I was actually worried (based on the XBL banned forums) that I'd end up getting banned for jumping into several rooms that had nothing but people flying around the map offering hacks for MSP
This guy really didn't deserve getting banned. Really oversensitive.
Just copy and paste the link back into the browser, should work, for the other pic link too.
The explanation was borderline retarded, but I agree. They're cunts about some things. My friend's gamertag was suspended because someone complained it had the work "drunken" in it. He started on XBL when Halo 2 came out, and earlier this year he got hit with it. That's, what...6-7 years with no problem?
Having said that, I'd love to be on the XBLE team. Just the amount of bannings I could hand out in a single game of MW3 would be awesome.
