Woman Drives Car Into Boyfriend While He's Holding Their 6-Year Old Daughter

Unfortunately, the police refused to release the mug shot of the woman but the name and crime would indicate that the correct answer to GTR is white.

JACKSON — A woman was arrested after she allegedly ran over her partner while he was holding the couple’s six-year-old daughter, police said.

Michele Duffy, 34, of Manchester, is charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child with additional charges pending. She was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River on $50,000 bail, Lt. Steve Laskiewicz said in a statement.

Her arrest came after Jackson police responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Cassville Road around 7:30 p.m. Monday, Laskiewicz said.

Police determined during the course of a dispute, Duffy used the 2002 Mazda she was driving to intentionally strike her male partner, who was holding the six-year-old. Duffy then ran over the man and used the car to strike another person who had come to help. Duffy then placed the child in the car and left the scene, Laskiewicz said.

One of the victims was transported to Helene Fuld Medical Center in Trenton for treatment and the other to Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood, Lakiewicz said. He did not specify which victim went to which hospital.

Manchester police later spotted the Mazda driven by Duffy at the Quick Chek in Manchester. She was arrested and taken to the Jackson Police Department, Laskiewicz said.

The names of the two victims were not released by Jackson police Tuesday.

The Asbury Park Press asked police for a photo of the suspect, but they declined. State law allows authorities discretion in releasing suspect photos, but they often refuse to do so saying media publicity could affect their ability to select a jury.
