a good friend of mine went with me to the Giants parade, but he freakin' stank all day. A nice combo of stale cigarettes (he's a regular smoker), flu-breath and a very slight whiff of "I didn't wipe very well today". I could smell it as soon as he got in the car this morning and I had my nose buried in my shirt collar on the train over because he was seated next to me. Eeeeccccchhh!!
:(

As a friend, you should have told him he fucking stank and you don't want that stench staying in your car.

It's the heavy smokers... their sense of smell is shot. I used to work with a two-pack-a-day guy. He used to douse himself in cheap cologne... which only made him stink like cigarette ass stink and cheap cologne. I went over to his house once, he had two big stinky dogs... black labs... and the mixture of dog funk, cigarettes, and Old Spice was so rancid that I didn't even make it through the front door.

He was a bachelor... a single fella... go figger.

It's more than heavy smokers though - I work with a few people - men AND women who stink and they don't smoke. There was one woman who used to work in my office who smelled so badly that for Christmas one year someone anonymously left a gift basket containing soap, deodorant, and various other hygiene-related items. Of course she was insulted and the entire office got called on it for being "insensitive". There were 18 of us having to smell one of her but we were insensitive.

Don't know or don't care? I've known people who just don't give a damn.

I sat next to this black chick in high school who smelled like straight up rotten fish every single day. She over heard me talking to someone about it and she started crying. Turns out it was part of her culture to smell like that. Oops. They made me apologize but really I wasn't sorry. I can still smell that bitch.

one of my employees came into my cube with a question the other day. he was leaning over my shoulder as I was looking at the account he was working on. the fucking dragon breath that was coming out of him as he breathed over me caused me at one point to actually plug my nose involuntarily. when he saw me do it he backed off. it was just fucking gross.

I'm a fat fuck, but I am obsessed about always being clean and not smelling. I just can't see myself going out knowing I stink. Even when I was in construction, I always had to shower in the morning before I left, knowing I was gonna end up a mess by the end of the day. I just feel dirty leaving the house without a shower. The worst was a guy I used to work with at a commercial printing co. He was of the belief that deoderant ruined the ozone and refused to wear it, only problem was that he was the truck driver and occasionally I'd have to go out on a delivery with him, and the fucker refused to even open his window no matter how many hints you would drop. Anyone going out for a delivery would come back like a fucking dog with their head out the window. Eventually everyone refused to go out in the truck with him.

Stink radius... :haha7:

That would be a heck of a screen name! :action-sm

As far as stinking goes... Some people simply don't have a sense of smell, so I guess they'd have no way of knowing that they stink.

Our old neighbor across the street from my parents' house... She didn't have a sense of smell, was simply born without it. Anyway, the heating oil tank for her house was in the basement. When I was a kid, it developed a leak - so much so that it emptied completely into her basement. At this point, she was a widow who lived by herself. Her cat wouldn't come in the house for two days - due to the smell of the oil. Of course, she couldn't smell it. It was discovered when she had company, I think it was her daughter who came over for a visit and smelled it as soon as she got inside the house. It's a good thing she didn't have gas heat...

And no, she never stunk... She was a nurse, practiced very good [Stalker Patty] hy-giene [/Stalker Patty] and her house was always immaculate - clean as a whistle.

I have a bigger problem with people that get offended and/or upset when you tell them they stink. If you stink and you don't know, that's fine. It happens to us all. Just don't act like the person that is telling you that you stink is the asshole. If it's so bad that they'll actually tell you, it's gotta be fucking awful. They're trying to do you a fucking favor!
